FC Bordeaux have pulled out of the race to sign Arsenal defender Mathieu Debuchy, according to reports.
The defender has been heavily linked with a move away from the Emirates and Bordeaux were reportedly interested.
However, the French outfit has now dropped its interest in the fullback due to Financial problems.
The defender spent the second half of last season at the French cub and although failed to make an impact due to injuries, the club were still keen on signing him permanently.
French Newspaper Sud Ouest, via Inside Futbol has now revealed that Bordeaux will not be able to pay the player’s transfer fee even if they manage to convince the defender to take a pay cut.
Debuchy is expected to be shipped out of the Emirates after falling out with Arsene Wenger. He appears not to be in Wenger’s plans for the future despite still having three years left in his contract.
Wenger has Hector Bellerin, Calum Chambers and Carl Jenkinson as his options and would definitely not feel the departure of Debuchy. Olympic Lyon have also been linked with the fullback and would now be boosted by Bordeaux withdrawal from the race.
