Arsenal have been told by Inter Milan to look elsewhere in its search for a striker as the Serie A club are unwilling to sell their star forward Mauro Icardi.
Icardi is one of those names being linked with a move to the Emirates and it was claimed the player’s agent held talks with the Gunners in London last week as we weigh up a potential summer bid.
However, Inter Milan have now warned the Gunners that the striker is not for sale at any price. Inter’s president Erick Thohir revealed that he won’t allow the 23 year old leave the club, claiming he has already rejected offers for the striker’s services, including an offer from Napoli, according to the Daily Star.
“We’re not going to sell Icardi. We’ve received offers – from Napoli too – but we’re not going to sell him,” he told Inter Channel.
“We extended his contract a year ago. We’re like a family and we can always talk if there are problems or discuss what we’d like to achieve together in future.
“He’s our captain and an important player for us. We’re very happy with him.”
Icardi is highly rated at the San Siro, he is currently one of the club’s best players and it’s captain. As expected, it would take a lot to lure him away from the San Siro.
