Arsenal have been heavily linked with a deal in signing Leicester City’s star winger Riyad Mahrez this summer.
Although Leicester City boss Claudio Ranieri has insisted the 25-year-old winger is not for sale and he will remain with the Foxes beyond this summer transfer window.
But Wenger is bent on signing the Algeria international who guided the Foxes in winning the Premier League last season scoring 17 goals and 11 assist to win the PFA player of last season.
The Frenchman admitted yesterday that Mahrez could be on his way to Arsenal. When asked if Arsenal are watching Mahrez, Wenger said yes ( video below ) although he has failed to confirm whether a bid has been made but curiously, Wenger was said to have left the stadium immediately Mahrez was subbed off in the 60th minute.
This was confirmed by beIN Sport journalist Ben Jacobs who interviewed him during the game as he sat by his Wenger’s side.
It looks like a deal could be announced soon as reports making the round states Mahrez isn’t interested in Leicester City’s contract extension amid he has already agreed a deal to join Arsenal this summer.
