Arsenal have been linked with a move to sign Leicester City winger Riyad Mahrez since the end of last season but it appears the club are not interested in signing the winger.
In recent weeks, Arsenal have been touted as favourites to sign the Algerian international with reports claiming the player has agreed a move to Arsenal which would be completed once the club tables a €50m bid
It was also claimed the player has turned down a new contract at the King Power Stadium, informing the club of his desire to move to the Emirates but recent reports now claim that is not the case.
According to Squawka, Arsenal have not contacted Leicester City over signing the winger. The report claims the Gunners doesn’t hold any interest in the PFA player of the year and unless something changes between now and the end of the transfer window, the club would not lodge an official offer to sign Mahrez.
Wenger is a big fan of Mahrez but he believes he is already well stocked on the right wing position.
Mahrez is understood to be happy at Leicester City and has not turned down a new contract but has only stated he is in no hurry to sign a new deal.
This news will come as a huge blow to fans who has been hoping to see the Algeria talisman in an Arsenal jersey next season.
