Arsenal are considering a summer move for Torino defender Bruno Peres, according to reports.
The Gunners have reportedly been watching the defender for sometime and Wenger has received glowing reports from the scouting department.
Wenger has revealed he is very keen on strengthening his defense and it is thought that a centre back is his priority but it wouldn’t be surprising if the French man move to sign Peres to provide cover for Bellerin after the reports he got from the scouts.
Manchester City have also been linked with the defender as Guardiola searches for defensive reinforcements.
Torino received an official offer thought to be in the region of €18m for the defender from England. the club which tabled the official bid was not revealed but it is unlikely to be Arsenal.
it is claimed the defender’s versatility is what has put him on the radar of many big clubs. Bayern Munich, Wolfsburg, Bayer Leverkusen and Paris Saint Germain are all rumoured to be interested in the defender.
The Brazilian international is expected to cost at least €20m after Torino President Bruno Cairo revealed the club won’t accept the €18m bid.
He said: “I won’t give him away for these numbers.”
In my opinion, the club should resist signing Peres as we currently have Calum Chambers, Carl Jekinson who can act as back up to Hector Bellerin.
