Arsenal have moved a step closer to signing Olympic Lyon striker Alexandre Lacazette, according to reports.
The Gunners have been working on a deal to sign the French man but have not been successful. The club tabled an opening bid of £29.5m which was rejected and are believed to be preparing a new bid worth about £35m.
It is understood that Lyon are likely to reject the new bid as it is £5m short of their valuation but Arsenal have made a significant step in its attempt to sign the striker.
According to The Daily Star, Lacazette is interested in joining Arsenal and has already informed his club about his desire to move to North London.
Le 10 Sport via the report has now added that Arsenal have agreed personal terms with the striker.
This could now strengthen Arsenal’s position in negotiations with Lyon as the French club may be forced to accept Arsenal’s £35m bid.
Lacazette scored 21 league goals for the French side last season and would provide cover and competition for Olivier Giroud should he move to the Emirates this summer.
