Everton have joined Arsenal in the race to sign Wolfsburg forward Julian Draxler, according to reports.
Arsenal are reportedly interested in the forward and were thought to be preparing a €50m bid but would now face competition for his services.
According to the Independent, Everton have joined the race to sign the forward and the Toffees have opened talks with Wolfsburg over signing the winger.
Everton’s new owner Farhad Moshiri has promised to provide the club with a huge transfer kitty and Koeman wants to lure some of the best player’s to the Goodison Park. He would now rival Arsenal for Draxler’s signature this summer.
Wolfsburg are reluctant to sell the forward but the player could push for a move away from the club. He recently revealed he is keen on a move away from Wolfsburg and slammed the club’s handling of his future.
“I am surprised that matters regarding my [future] are being communicated in the media,” Draxler replied. “I expected that to go differently. For example that someone approaches me and asks me for my views instead.
“We shortly texted. I talked on the phone with coach Hecking. Two days after the semi-final at the Euro I explained my point of view and expressed my wish that I want to leave the club.
Draxler joined Wolfsburg last summer and impressed for the Bundesliga club. Everton have now made the first move to sign the talented winger.
