It seems Arsenal interest in signing Lyon striker Alexandre Lacazette before our first game against Liverpool is still on as Sky Sports News HQ reporter Kaveh Solhekol reports Arsenal are working round the clock to announce a deal for the Frenchman
Arsenal are preparing an improved £35m bid for Olympic Lyon striker Alexandre Lacazette, according to the Daily Star.
The Gunners have already had a £29.5m bid rejected and are now looking to return with an improved offer.
Although the French club are holding out for a £40m fee, it is believed Wenger is readying a new £35m bid.
It is going to take a lot to convince Lyon to accept a fee £5m short of their asking price. Lyon’s president JeanMichel Aulas is already talking tough and has stated the player won’t be leaving the club.
The club is in dire need of a centre forward. Dani Welbeck is currently out injured and Olivier Giroud is set to miss the start of the season, with the situation at the club, it wouldn’t b a crime if we meet Lyon’s demands.
