There is no doubt Arsenal fans would like to see Algerian international Riyad Mahrez sign for Arsenal this summer.

Mahrez has been heavily linked with a move in joining Arsenal last week with reports suggesting he has already agreed personal terms with the Gunners.

However, Mahrez’s future at the King Power Stadium  has remained settled up until the last 24 hours after pictures of the player the same hotel as Chelsea boss Antonio Conte surfaced.

French football journalist, Le Sphinx (@Ilyesramdani1), has taken to his personal Twitter handle to reveal that Mahrez wants to join Arsenal, but that he’s not willing to force Leicester to let him move on:

He tweeted: “With Twitter, I’m afraid to pronounce the name of Mahrez in the street and hundreds of Arsenal fans surround me. “Any update?”

“After that, it will have escaped anyone that player mature in silence and never said or even implied that he wanted to remain…

“But he absolutely refused to go to the tussle with a club for whom he has a lot of recognition. (And who obviously wishes to him)

“Therefore expressed it its position in the different parts (his wish to sign for Arsenal) but it will not force the hand of Leicester.”

“Any update?”

Mahrez guided the Foxes in winning the Premier League last season with 17 goals and 11 assists, his impressive performance made him voted as the PFA player of the season.
