The immediate future of Arsenal defender Mathieu Debuchy appears to have been resolved as the defender is set to spend the 2016/2017 season away from the Emirates. The defender has been linked with a move to several clubs and could now be on his way to Turkey on a temporary basis.
According to Turkish Journalist Gokmen Ozdemir via the Daily Star, Arsenal have reached an agreement with Galatasaray to take the defender on loan this season.
The Turkish giants will now have to agree personal terms with the defender before the move would be officially completed.
The defender recently returned from a six month loan spell at Bordeaux but would be sent out on loan again. The defender had a terrible first six month at the Emirates last season before he was shipped out on loan and on his return, he still does not feature in Arsene Wenger’s plans for the future.
Debuchy joined Arsenal from Newcastle in 2014 for about £12m, although, he initially impressed in his early days at the Emirates but lost his place to Hector Bellerin due to a combination of injuries and the young Spaniard’s performances.
Bordeaux are also interested in taking the defender on loan again and could rival Galatasaray for his services.
