Arsenal have been alerted by the availability of Real Madrid midfielder Isco, according to reports.
The midfielder’s future at the Bernabeu has been in doubt since the winter transfer window and he has been linked with the Gunners since then.
Spanish publication AS are now claiming Arsenal have been placed on red alert after they were made aware of Madrid’s intentions to sell the midfielder.
Despite Isco’s talents, he has been unable to live up to expectations and has struggled to break into Madrid’s first team. The club has now given up on the 23 year old playmaker and are looking to ship him out.
Zinedine Zidane recently stated he wants to keep the majority of his current squad but the French tactician is unhappy with Isco’s attitude and is willing to let the midfielder leave the club.
Madrid believes there will be no shortage of offers for the midfielder with Premier League giants Chelsea and Arsenal keeping monitoring Isco’s situation.
However, we don’t expect Wenger to make a move for the midfielder, if not for anything but his price tag. It is claimed Madrid will demand a £67.8m for the midfielder and knowing Wenger has a reputation of being frugal in the transfer market, it is unlikely the French tactician will pay such huge fee or anything close to that for a player who isn’t a starter in his club.
