Lorenzo Insigne wants a move to Arsenal, according to reports in Italy.
The Italian striker has been linked with a move to the Emirates since the winter transfer window and reports in Italy are now claiming the striker’s head has been turned by the Gunners’ interest.
Napoli are reluctant to sell the striker and have ignored several bids for the Italian already. His agent Fabio Andreotti has now revealed the striker could consider those offers should Napoli not offer him a new contract.
Andreotti said: “In our last meeting, we didn’t like some of the answers that the club (Napoli) gave us, as quoted by 101 great goals.
Lorenzo made a decision with his heart, but a player’s professional life doesn’t last forever, and when other clubs are willing to reward you financially, then you’ve got to get onto the market.”
“With a heavy heart, I must say that there are clubs that are considering us. Napoli don’t want to let him go, but the contract they’re offering does not satisfy us, we have better offers.
“Three among the richest clubs in Europe want Lorenzo, and (sporting director Cristiano) Giuntoli has known this for a long time.”
The report also added that Arsenal are the club to have tabled the most attracting offer for Insigne. However, we think it’s just a ploy by Insigne’s agent to get the best contract for his client and Arsenal’s name may have been thrown into the mix to force Napoli’s hands
