Arsenal are preparing a new bid for Inter Milan striker Mauro Icardi, according to reports.
The Gunners have been monitoring the Argentine striker all summer and it appears Wenger is finally set to make a move for his services.
Inter Milan are reluctant to sell the striker and has publicly warned they won’t entertain any bid for their star man but that hasn’t deterred Wenger as the Frenchman is weighing up offering a huge bid.
According to Shoot.co.uk, Wenger is preparing a bid of £30m plus Olivier Giroud for Icardi’s services.
Napoli are believed to be very interested in signing the striker also and Wenger is keen to beat the Italian outfit to Icardi’s signature.
Inter Milan are adamant they won’t sell the striker and new Inter Milan manager Frank de Boer has re-echoed the club’s desire to keep the striker.
‘We will keep the players who we do not want to sell,’ he said.
‘Icardi will remain.
‘Mauro is young, can still learn and we will work very well together.’
Icardi is highly rated in Italy and is considered one of the best strikers of his generation. The Argentine has scored 52 goals in 102 appearances for Inter since he joined the club in 2013 and would be a quality addition to our squad.
