Arsenal are finding it difficult to offload Mathieu Debuchy, according to reports.
The Gunners are reportedly interested in selling the French international this summer and the player’s agent has been working hard to find a new club for his client.
Galatasaray and FC Bordeaux were two clubs that showed interest in signing the defender but both clubs have now pulled out of a deal to sign the 31-year-old.
According to Dailycannon.com, Galatasaray pulled out of the race to sign the defender due to concerns about his fitness level and have turned their attention to Transbospor fullback Cavanda.
Debuchy’s agent offered his client to the Turkish giants but they opted against signing him because of doubts about his match fitness level.
Le vent Nazifoglu, Gala’s sporting director confirmed this to journalist in Turkey:
“Mathieu Debuchy was offered to Galatasaray through his agent on a loan deal,” Nazofoglu said.
The report also added that Bordeaux are no longer in the race to sign the defender as a result of Arsenal’s asking price.
The defender spent the final six months of last season at the French club and they were interested in taking him back this term but they couldn’t reach an agreement with Arsenal.
Bordeaux manager Jocelyn Gourvennec said:
“I always said that I liked him a lot … After going financially against the English [Arsenal], he’s unplayable.”
Olympiakos and West Ham are now the only clubs linked with the defender.
