Leicester City’s boss, Claudio Ranieri has denied reports that Arsenal have made an official approach to sign Riyad Mahrez.
The Algerian is being linked with a move to Arsenal and has been the subject of a rejected £30m bid from the club.
Reports in France are now claiming Arsenal are preparing an improved bid worth £35m but Ranieri has denied those claims, stating that Leicester have not received any bid for Mahrez services and reiterated they won’t entertain any.
Ranieri said: Never has Riyad come to me and said ‘coach, I want to go’ because I’ll kill him before he tells me this.”
“It’s not a problem. When there is all this attention around your name it’s because you are doing well.
“The speculation is normal, he is a big player and he needs to feel there are other teams and managers who want him.
“I don’t know, who is interested? Tell me if there is one. Arsenal? No.
“Riyad will stay with us.”
Mahrez has already been told by the league champions, he won’t be sold this summer and the player is resigned to staying at the King Power Stadium this season.
The Foxes lost their first league game against newly promoted Hull City on Saturday and are expected to strengthen their stand on keeping their best players including Mahrez.
