Reports linking Riyad Mahrez to Arsenal are on the rise again despite Leicester City insisting they won’t entertain any bid for their star player. Mahrez has been linked with a move to the Emirates since the end of last season and the reports have gathered pace in the last few days.
Leicester city have already warned they won’t sell the Algeria international at any price but that hasn’t stopped Arsenal from being linked with the 25 year old.
According to reports, Arsenal have already seen a £30m bid rejected for his services as Leicester stand firm over the decision not to sell.
And now according to French Publication L’Equipe via the Mirror, the club are prepared to return with a new bid worth £35m. It is claimed Wenger is keen on the winger and would try to force Leicester City into selling.
The player hasn’t helped the situation either, as it is believed he has rejected an improved contract at the King Power stadium, and that has given Arsenal hope a deal could still be done this summer.
Chelsea are also keeping tabs on the winger’s situation but it is Arsenal who are in the driving seat at the moment.
Mahrez helped his team to its first Premier League title in history last season, scoring 17 goals and making 11 assists in the process.
