Juventus have rejected Arsenal’s bid for Mario Lemina, according to reports.
Wenger is looking to bolster his squad before the end of the transfer window and is believed to be interested in the Juventus man.
Lemina is primarily a defensive midfielder but has been deployed as a centre back and also in a more advanced position in the past. It is his versatility that is believed to be attracting Wenger.
The midfielder spent last season on loan at Juventus and the Italian club recently made his stay permanent but Arsenal are hoping to tempt them into selling the youngster immediately.
Arsenal recently submitted a £13.8m bid for Lemina’s services but it was turned down. Juventus are unwilling to sell, especially after losing Paul Pogba to Manchester United.
It remains to be seen if the club would return with an improved bid before the end of the transfer window.
Lemina made 10 appearances for Juventus last season and should Wenger be able to guarantee him increased playing time at the Emirates, he might just push for a move away from Turin.
The midfielder is under contract at Juventus until 2020 and it would take a lot to take him away from the Italian giants.
