Arsenal are set to lose out in the race to sign Wolfsburg forward Julian Draxler, according to reports.
Arsenal were believed to be interested in the Germany international and were tipped to make a concrete offer for the player this summer. However, a deal never materialized and the player is now closing in on a move to PSG.
According to Sunday people via the Daily Star, Paris Saint Germain are the only club to have tabled a bid for the German. The forward wants to leave Wolfsburg this summer and appears to be leaning on a move to Paris.
Wolfsburg are reluctant to sell the winger but would demand around £50m should they be forced to sell.
However, fresh reports claims Arsenal are willing to meet Wolfsburg valuation for the skillful attacker.
Arsene Wenger is a big fan of the forward and has always talked up the player’s potential but the French boss has not made any move for the 22 year old. Even if Wenger was to make a move, the player’s price tag means Wenger would have to break the club’s transfer record and it is unlikely he would be willing to do so.
Draxler joined Wolfsburg for around £25.5m last summer and could be on the move again after an impressive season for both club and country but his destination wouldn’t be the Emirates.
