Arsenal have been handed a boost in its attempt to sign Alexandre Lacazette, according to the Daily Star.
The Gunners have been working on a deal to sign the striker but have been frustrated by Lyon. The French club have already rejected an opening £29.5m bid for the striker, subsequently warning they won’t entertain any offer for the striker this summer.
It was claimed that Wenger would be returning with an improved £35m bid but Arsenal are believed to have held talks with Lyon and were told it would take a bid of about £60m to sign the striker.
The 25 year old has began the season in good form, bagging a hat-trick in Lyon’s first league game of the season. And speaking after the game, the striker refused to rule out a switch to the Emirates.
Lacazette told Canal + : “If offers come in that one cannot refuse, I don’t want to refuse them.”
“If not, I am happy at Lyon.”
Arsenal are currently light in attack department as the club have only Olivier Giroud as its fit centre forward.
