Inter Milan are interested in signing Arsenal winger Alexis Sanchez, according to reports.
Spanish publication Don Balon via Football Insider claim the Italian giants are keen on Sanchez and would do everything they can to lure him back to Italy this summer.
The Italian club are under pressure to sell star striker Mauro Icardi and are already in search of a replacement.
Icardi’s agent Wanda Nara has been looking for a club for her client after failing to agree terms on a new deal with Inter. The San Siro club are now prepared to sell the striker and has lined up Sanchez as his replacement.
The report claims Sanchez is open to a move back to Italy on one condition and that is if he is made the highest paid player in the Serie A.
The Chile international has two years left in his contract at Arsenal and is yet to reach an agreement with the club despite talks between both parties since last season.
It is claimed Inter Milan are prepared to pay as much as £69m for Sanchez. Wenger has been trying to strengthen his attack all summer but has not been successful and losing Alexis Sanchez would make things worse.
Wenger is expected to reject Inter’s attempts but should the player push for a move, it could be difficult to turn down a huge bid considering he will have just one year left in his contract next summer.
