According to reports making the round, Arsenal could sign Bayer Leverkusen centre-half Omer Toprak as an alternative to Shkodran Mustafi should they fail to sign him this summer.
Arsenal are in dire need of a defender this summer having fall short of players due to injury with Per Mertesacker and Gabriel Paulista still out injured.
It seems a deal for Mustafi to Arsenal is off as Skysport reporter Guillem Balague announced on Sunday that Valencia are not willing to sell Mustafi to the Gunners, despite triggering his €50 million (£43 million) release clause in order to land him.
VFC don’t want to sell and are saying he wont go! He’ll play tomorrow. Only doubt: will AFC pay €50m buyout clause?https://t.co/mcNxbLoems

With reports making the round suggest Arsenal have not shifted attention to Omer Toprak and could sign him for just £14 million.
It seems Arsenal chances of signing the 27-year-old looks bright as the report claims:
‘It is not certain whether I will stay at Bayer Leverkusen,’ Toprak told Turkish-Football.
‘We still have a month and anything could happen until then.’
Toprak still have two years left on his contract in Germany and it seems Arsenal could snatch him before the transfer window closes.
