Arsenal are set to miss out on another of its summer target, according to a report in the Daily Express.
Inter Milan striker Mauro Icardi has been tipped to move to the Emirates this summer but he is now set to stay in Italy.
The player’s agent Wanda Nara was reportedly in London on two occasions to discuss the possibility of moving to the Premier League but it appears those talks didn’t yield any positive result.
The striker has now hinted on twitter that he is set to stay at Inter Milan.
“New objectives, but always with the same love for this shirt for three years.. And for many more…” Icardi tweeted alongside a picture of him in an Inter shirt.
The report claims Icardi will sign a new long term deal worth £82,000 a week with Inter, ending Arsenal’s hope of signing him this summer.
Nara has been pushing for a new deal for her client all summer and hinted that the player would be open to a move away from Inter should the club not offer them a new contract. The new deal has definitely ended Arsenal’s hopes of signing the Argentine.
Icardi will now join Lacazette and Vardy as targets that the club missed out on this summer.
