Despite the summer transfer window has ended, Arsenal still have some in-house business to attend to and one of them is to convince Mesut Ozil to sign a new contract with Arsenal.
According to reports from the Mirror suggest Arsene Wenger is optimistic that Ozil will sign a contract extension with the club as they tend to use the arrival of his national team-mate Shkodran Mustafi this summer to convince him to stay at the Emirates Stadium.
The German international currently have two years left until his contract runs out at the Emirates stadium and it is believed he is been anxious to see Arsenal’s ambition about winning trophies before putting pen to paper for the club.
The report further claims the signing of Mustafi is a sign of intent the Gunners are ready to sign players to help bolster the squad in winning titles.
However, it is also understood that Mustafi and Ozil are also good pals and Arsenal believe his arrival will be the intriguing part in making the 27-year-old sign a new with Arsenal.
Ozil, and his advisers have already discussed a new deal which is likely to go towards the £200,000-a-week mark.
