Arsenal star Alexis Sanchez wants a release clause to be inserted in his new contract, according to reports.
The club reportedly opened talks with Sanchez over a new contract at the end of last season but were unable to reach an agreement with the player.
This prompted reports linking him with a move away from the Emirates but the club stood firm and rejected all enquiries to sign the winger in the just concluded transfer window.
During the transfer window, reports in Spain claimed the player was looking for a way out of Arsenal but the club refused to entertain any offer for the Chilean.
Sanchez has about two years left in his contract and now that the window is closed, Arsenal are hoping to reopen negotiations with him.
However, the club could be frustrated in its attempt to keep the winger as the Mirror via the Metro claims Sanchez is in no hurry to enter into negotiations and will demand a release clause to be included in his contract if he is to sign a new deal.
It appears the winger is not keen on staying at the Emirates because the inclusion of a release clause would make it easier for him to leave. Arsenal would then be powerless to stop him from leaving should a club activate the clause.
