Arsenal star Kieran Gibbs could leave the Emirates in the January transfer window, according to the Daily Express.
Gibbs has struggled for game time since losing his place to Nacho Monreal last season. He made a handful of appearances for the club last season and was linked with a move away from the club in the summer but a deal didn’t materialize as Wenger was not prepared to lose any of his defenders.
However Gibbs future at the club is still in doubt and the Sun claims he is considering leaving the Emirates.
Gibbs will continue to fight for a place in Wenger’s starting xi but should his situation not change between now and January, he would consider a move away from the club.
Bookmakers Betstars have placed Gibbs at an odd of 10/11 to leave the Emirates in January.
A Betstars spokesperson said:
“After heavy backing in the last 24 hours, Kieran Gibbs is now odds-on at 10/11 to end his 12-year stay at Arsenal this January as he looks for first- team opportunities elsewhere.”
“After falling behind Nacho Monreal in the pecking order, we expect Gibbs to follow fellow English man Jack Wilshere by joining another Premier League club in hope of regaining his place in the England squad.”
Gibbs have been out of the England squad since losing his first team place to Monreal and he believes his best chance of getting back into the international fold is to be playing regular football.
