Arsenal are already planning for life without Arsene Wenger, according to reports.
The Gunners boss is into the final year of his contract and has refused to indicate if he would sign a new contract or not.
Wenger who recently stated he wouldn’t make a decision on his future until next summer has been under severe criticism from some Arsenal supporters due to the club’s failure to win the league title and there could be serious unrest if the club fails to win the league title this year again.
Arsenal are now considering 38-year-old Bournemouth manager Eddie Howe as Wenger’s replacement if he leaves the club at the end of the season.
According to The Sun via Football Insider, Arsenal chiefs are already discussing the possibility of hiring Howe.
Howe has made a name for himself since he led Bournemouth to the Premier League in the 2014/15 season.
The report also claims Wenger has been told he can renew his contract at the club but that hasn’t stopped the chiefs from preparing for the French tactician’s departure.
Wenger has the option to move to a Technical director role should he step down as manager.
The French man has been in charge of the club since 1996 and has guided the club to three Premier League titles in his 20-year spell at the club.
