Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has revealed the club will soon resume talks over new contracts with Mesut Ozil and Alexis Sanchez .
The Gunners duo have two years left in their contracts at the club and talks to extend their contracts were initiated in May but both players decided to put talks on hold to focus on helping their national team perform well in the summer championships.
With the season now well underway, reports have claimed Arsenal are close to tying the duo down to new contracts and Wenger has confirmed talks with both players will soon resume.
‘Ozil and Sanchez, we will start to talk for their extensions,’ Wenger stated in the lead-up to Arsenal’s trip to Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League.
The players were linked with moves away from the Emirates in the just concluded summer transfer window but Arsenal did all they could to keep them at the club.
It is understood the arrival of Shkodran Mustafi has convinced Ozil to stay and the club have also been able to persuade Sanchez that his future lies at the Emirates. The duo will now resume talks with the club and Arsenal chiefs are confident they will commit their future to the club in no distant time.
