Paris Saint-Germain have tried to sign Arsene Wenger three times in recent years.
Wenger who will be celebrating 20 years at Arsenal in October has been linked with a move to PSG on numerous occasions but the French tactician has shunned the advances of the French club to remain at the Emirates.
According to L’Equipe via 101 GreatGoals, PSG have tried to sign Wenger three times since Qatar investors bought the club.
The French club approached the boss in 2011, 2013 and 2014 but he snubbed the approach despite going through a difficult spell at the Emirates.
Wenger has been unable to challenge with other big clubs financially in the last decade but that didn’t tempt him to leave when PSG came calling.
The boss has now revealed it was his love for Arsenal that made him snub PSG even though he would have been exposed to limitless cash at the French club.
Asked why he turned down PSG, Wenger said:
“Because I love where I am.
“I know well the owners (of PSG), but I feel always I remained loyal to Arsenal Football Club because I think it’s a club that has the qualities I love. And, that’s why.
“I like to come to Paris. It’s a city I love, it’s my country, a country I love.
Wenger is now in the final year of his contract and is reportedly undecided about extending his contract. Arsenal chiefs want him to remain at the club but should he decide to step down, L’Equipe believes he could decide to join PSG.
