Arsenal are interested in signing Belgium midfielder Youri Tielemans, according to reports.

The midfielder is currently regarded as one of the brightest talents in Europe. Despite his young age, he is already a key part of Anderlecht’s squad, his performances for the Belgian side has been so impressive and a number of clubs are already keeping tabs on his progress.

According to reports, Arsenal are interested in signing Tielemans and could make a move for him in the winter transfer window or next summer.

Tielemans recently turned 19 a few months ago and has already made more than a century appearances for Anderlecht’s first team.

He became the youngest player to play in the Champions League when he made his debut for the Belgian side at 16.

Arsenal watched the midfielder last season but a move didn’t happen because the player had no intention to leave Belgium in the just concluded summer transfer window and the club will continue to keep tabs on him with the hope of making a move in the future.

According to the report, Arsenal scouts were present in Anderlecht’s Europa league game against FK Qabala on Thursday to watch Tielemans. Unfortunately, the midfielder suffered a serious ankle injury which could rule him out of action for several months.

Arsenal are currently well stocked in midfield but with the future in mind, snapping up Tielemans now could be the best thing to do. However, it may take a lot to convince the midfielder to leave Anderlecht as he appears to be more interested in playing regular football at his current club than sitting on the Emirates bench.
