Let’s take a look back at Arsenal’s start to the 2016/17 Premier League season. How they have performed thus far could be a good predictor of how they will continue to perform for the rest of the season.
Off to a Great Start
Overall, Arsenal is off to a fantastic start in the 2016/17 Premier League schedule, and fans are anticipating that the wins will continue. The team has already been very impressive, defeating their opponents with surprising ease and scoring plenty of goals to excite their audiences. If the team is able to continue on this track, there will definitely be a lot of exciting games ahead, and there will also be plenty of goals and wins to be expected as well, so placing your bets on Arsenal would be a wise decision.
A few of the most recent games have been particularly fun to watch, and Arsenal have been coming out on top. They are currently in third place in the Premier League standings, and it looks like they have the potential to go even further as this season wears on if they can keep up their great performance and their players can remain healthy and strong.
Arsenal Defeats Chelsea
More recently, on 24 September 2016, Arsenal defeated Chelsea 3-0, ending their poor run against their opponent. All three goals were scored in the first half of the game, and Alexis Sanchez scored the first goal, with Theo Walcott following with another goal just three minutes later. Arsenal then scored a third goal with the help of Mesut Ozil. This means that Arsenal has earned their very first win over Chelsea after 10 Premier League matches, and this is a game that helped them make their way to third place in the league.
A Victory Against Hull City
On 17 September 2016, Arsenal had a great 4-1 victory over Hull City. In this particular match, Alexis Sanchez, Theo Walcott, and Granit Xhaka were credited with getting all of the goals necessary to drive their team ahead of the competition. On the Hull City side of the competition, Robert Snodgrass was the only member of the team to be able to score against Arsenal, and Jake Livermore received a red card as well.
A Win Over Southampton
When Arsenal went up against Southampton on 10 September 2016, the match ended 2-1, with Arsenal victorious. Petr Cech scored the only goal for Southampton, whilst Laurent Koscielny and Santi Cazorla scored goals for Arsenal. It was looking like a tight game for a while, though, and fans thought that this match might very well end in a draw until Santi Cazorla was able to get a stoppage time penalty kick that put Arsenal over the top and allowed the team to win.
Other Recent Results
In other Premier League matches, Arsenal has been shining brightly. On 27 August 2016, they defeated Watford 3-1, and they had a 0-0 draw on 20 August 2016 against Leicester. However, they did lose against Liverpool in a match on 14 August 2016 that ended with a score of 3-4.
Overall, fans are excited to see what else Arsenal has in store, especially after all of these wins early in the Premier League season. It will be interesting to see what the remainder of the season holds.
