Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger will mark his 20-years in charge as coach of Arsenal when they face Burnley on Sunday.
There is no doubt the Arsenal squad are in their form with a splendid performance this season despite losing their opening game of the campaign to Liverpool.
Now, speaking to NBC, Wenger has opened up on his philosophy. As he explains why he thinks all big clubs should play in a way which is pleasing on the eye.
“Do you win ugly? You cannot be a big club and say, ‘Look, friends, buy a season ticket because we want to win ugly,’ that will not go far,” he said.
“The big clubs need to have the ambition to win with style. People want to see an experience that fulfils them.
“We live in a period where it is only about winning at any costs.
“The best way to win is to play where everybody expresses their talent. In a team sport, it’s about developing the qualities and getting them to play in harmony.”
The Gunners have been heavily criticised for passing the ball too many times but it seems to be working this season with the Gunners getting the reason week in week out.
