Former Liverpool and Manchester United striker Michael Owen has admitted he is impressed with Arsenal’s start this season despite losing their opening game 4-3 to Liverpool at the Emirates in August.
The Gunners have been impressive so far with an outstanding performance last week Wednesday against Chelsea and also in the Champions League over FC Basel.
Arsene Wenger’s side will travel down to Burnley on Sunday to extend their unbeaten run to nine games and Owen has admitted that he has been impressed by the level of football the Gunners have played so far this season.
Speaking after the final whistle during BT Sport‘s coverage of Wednesday’s game, Owen said: “It’s great for Arsenal. They’re in a real wave of form at the moment.
“It’s one of those funny clubs from my point of view because Arsenal fans are really up and down. When it’s good, [they’re saying] ‘we can win the league, the fixtures look great’ – there’s a huge wave of optimism. But then they could get beaten by Burnley in the next game and it’s ‘Wenger out’.
“But at the moment Arsenal are looking really, really strong. There are no problems at the minute so long may that continue.”
