Theo Walcott has hailed Arsenal’s summer signing Shkodran Mustafi for his superb performances since he joined the club.

Mustafi was a late arrival at Arsenal in the summer transfer window as Wenger desperately tried to shore up his defense which was facing an injury crisis in the summer.

The German was the man chosen by Wenger and after completing his £35m move from Valencia, he was immediately thrown into the starting xi.

The defender didn’t waste time to impress, from his first game to date, he has been rock solid alongside Koscielny in the heart of Arsenal’s defense. Walcott has now revealed the German is the summer signing who has made the greatest impact at the club so far.

Speaking about Mustafi’s impact, Walcott said:

“Shkrodan’s brought such strength and solidity. Of the new players, he especially gets people up for games.

“If your not doing something right he tells you. He’s a German international and that’s the way he is. He and Laurent Koscielny have been fantastic centre-backs. They have a very good relationship and it bodes well.

“We act when the opposition gets the ball and we do it as a unit, everyone acts together, not just one or two.”

Mustafi and Koscielny have helped Arsenal keep clean sheets in its last three games. What’s even more impressive is the way they shut out the opponents, limiting them to just few shots on target.

The duo will be crucial to Arsenal’s chances of winning the league title this season and fans will be hoping they continue to improve on their performances.
