It’s Official- Per Mertesacker On His Way To Werder Bremen

Arsenal defender Per Mertesacker has revealed he will start thinking about a move away from the club in the January transfer window.

Mertesacker suffered an injury early this season and is yet to feature for the Gunners this season he has since fallen down the pecking other at Arsenal since the introduction of  new summer signing Shkodran Mustafi from Valencia.

Fresh reports claims Werder Bremen, who Mertesacker played for from 2006 to 2011, are interested in bringing the Germany World Cup winner back to the Weser-Stadion.

‘In the course of Serge’s [Gnabry] transfer, we also talked about his [Mertesacker’s] future,’ Baumann admitted.

Hannover 96’s managing director Martin Bader also decided to go public with their interest in signing Mertesacker.

He said: ‘The issue of Per Mertesacker is currently not high on the agenda.

‘It’s obvious, because we are in the second division and he is the captain of Arsenal.

‘A lot has to come together so that a return is possible. The first requirement is that we get promoted.’
