Arsenal defender Shkodran Mustafi has hailed Arsenal’s ability to change it’s style to suit the opposition.
Arsenal have been criticized in the past for its inability to change it’s style of football and grind out wins when necessary but it appears things have started to change at the Emirates.
The team used to be unable to win football matches the ugly way but looking at the performance against Burnley on Sunday, one could observe that things have changed.
Arsenal found it difficult to break Burnley’s defense on Sunday. The team didn’t give up, they kept pushing for a winner and it required a controversial last-minute goal to seal all three points. Mustafi has now hailed the club’s ability to change from style to steel.
The £35m summer signing said: “It suits us more to play against big teams because it’s not always easy to come to places like this and change from style to steel.
“But we showed that we have good character and steel, and that’s what gave us the three points in the end.
“I keep saying that it’s important that we fight until the end. A Football game is 90 minutes and then extra time.
“The great teams fight until the end because they know that there’s still an opportunity to score a goal and today we showed that. You have to play until the referee blows the whistle.
“It gives you confidence because this is not an easy place to come to. They know how to defend, defended until the end but we kept pushing until the end.
“It just showed us that we are capable of scoring from every situation, even in the last minutes. A win like this is important to us.”
The win was the team’s fifth in a row across all competition and takes us up to third on the Premier League table, two points behind league leaders Manchester City.
