Arsenal have identified France starlet Vincent Koziello as a replacement for Santi Cazorla, according to reports.

Cazorla has less than one year left in his contract and is yet to be offered a new deal. The Spaniard recently spoke on his desire to sign a new contract, claiming he is happy at the Emirates.

The delay in offering him new contract and searching for a potential replacement is understandable as he will clock 32 in a few months time and it is only normal we start considering the future.

Cazorla has been one of our standout performers since in joined us in 2012 but as we all know, he can’t carry on forever. While there is no indication from the club that he won’t be offered a new deal, French publication Le10sport [via The Metro] is now claiming we are lining up Nice 20-year-old midfielder Koziello as a replacement for the Spaniard

We have been monitoring the youngster for quite sometime and it appears Wenger has been impressed with his performances.

A decision is yet to be taken on Cazorla’s future but we are made to believe that will be dependent on our chances of signing Koziello.

Koziello made his debut for Nice two years ago and has been a regular for his club since the beginning of last season. However, that is not enough to come to the Emirates and command a first team spot.

The midfielder could actually be the perfect replacement for Cazorla but needs more time to develop into the kind of player that the Spaniard is. Hence, the need to renew Cazorla’s contract irrespective of Koziello’s chase.
