The Gunners were impressive on Tuesday when they played Reading in the EFl cup championship.

Arsene Wenger side got back to winning ways after ending their unbeaten run in a row to Boro last weekend in the Premier League.

Both goals were scored by 23-year-old winger Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and a report from the Express suggest Arsene Wenger has revealed he could become a regular in his starting line-up claiming the England international is much sharper.

Oxlade-Chamberlain has scored 5 goals in all competition for the Gunners this term and he could gradually be winning his way back to Arsene Wenger’s starting line-up.

“Yeah, I hope so,” Oxlade-Chamberlain said on whether he thinks his cup form will earn him Premier League game time.

“Any game that I play in is an opportunity for me to show what I can do.

“And whether it’s the league, the Champions League, the League Cup or the FA Cup – it’s all important.

“First and foremost, it’s all game time and it’s good to get your confidence up and to try and play the way you want to play and it’s still a very good standard of football.

“Reading are a good team, so for me personally, any chance I get to play is an opportunity for me to show and hopefully that form will carry over into the league and be rewarded with more starts.

The talented winger has only started three times for the Gunners this term and failed to complete 90 minutes.

His impressive performance could earn him a spot in the starting line-up when Arsenal takes on bottom club Sunderland on Saturday.
