French Ligue 1 side Saint Etienne are interested in signing Arsenal striker Yaya Sanogo, according to reports.
The French striker spent the second half of last season on loan at Charlton Athletic where he had a relatively quiet spell, featuring in just eight league games for the Addicks, scoring three goals.
He was hoping to go out on loan again this season to continue his development but for whatever reasons, he remained with us. His situation has become frustrating as he is yet to feature for us this season and it appears he would need the opportunity of kick-starting his career elsewhere in January.
According to Italian Publication Calcio Mercato via Sports Witness, St Ettiene are interested in signing the striker when the winter transfer window opens.
The 23 year old has about a year left in his contract and it is unlikely he will sign a new deal due to his lack of playing time.
The report claims we are prepared to let him leave on loan again, having dropped out of Wenger’s plans.
Sanogo has played just eleven league games for us since he joined in 2013 and it appears his future lies elsewhere.
We don’t know what the player’s plans are of yet but we believe he would like to play more often even if it’s away from Arsenal. Therefore an exit will likely suit all parties involved.
