Goonersden brings you news from top football news sites from the likes of ESPN, SkySport, Daily Mail, Daily Star and Metro… We also Analyse football, player, transfer and predict Arsenal starting line-up.

According to The Sun via The Daily Star, Rennes forward Paul-Georges Ntep is attracting interests from ourselves and Liverpool.

Ntep has been with Rennes since January 2014 and has been impressive for the French side. His performances have seen him earn two call-ups to the France national team within the last two and a half years.

However, his future at his club is now in doubt as the winger’s contract expires at the end of the current season and is yet to sign a new deal. His situation has reportedly alerted a number of clubs including ourselves.

According to The Sun, we are a keeping close eye on the forward as he enters into the final six months of his contract.

Liverpool and Southampton are also believed to be interested and have joined us in monitoring the French man.

It appears Ntep is not willing to sign an extension with Rennes and the French club could be forced to sell him in January to avoild losing him for free next summer.

It is believed Rennes willingness to sell will cause Liverpool, Southampton and ourselves to scramble for the forward’s signature in the new year.

Whether we will make a concrete bid to sign the player is something I can’t tell but we would have to wait until January to know what the club’s plans are. However, it will not be surprising should we firm up our interest in Ntep, we have built a strong scouting network in France over the years and if the player is one with a great potential, then our scouts must have noticed him and brought it to the attention of the manager.

Lyon are also believed to be keeping tabs on the winger and he will be hoping to impress onlookers before the January transfer window opens.
