Arsenal are prepared to table a huge bid for AC Milan striker M’Baye Niang in January, according to a report in the DailyCannon.
Niang has been linked with with a move away from AC Milan in recent weeks after an impressive start to the season.
The striker who recently claimed he is open to the idea of playing in the Premier League one day has revealed two Premier League clubs tried to sign him in the past. He mentioned Arsenal and Everton as the two English clubs that tried to signed him but claimed he opted to join Milan as he felt moving to Italy was the right move for him.
Now that he is being linked with a move away from Milan, some media outlets have decided to spice up their reports by claiming we are back in the hunt for the striker and are prepared to table a €35m for his services in January.
It is hard to say if we are really interested in signing him but at €35m, I don’t see the possibility of Wenger making a move for Niang. He has only begun to perform well for Milan and it is ridiculous that his price tag has skyrocketed within a short time.
We also appear to be doing well in terms of forward options this season as we have both Lucas Perez and Olivier Giroud to provide cover for Sanchez. Unless someone is leaving, we don’t see any reason to spend such huge bucks on a striker and even if we want to, I believe we could find better options out there than Niang.
