Mesut Ozil has reportedly held talks with Turkish giants Fenerbahce over a future move during a short trip to Istanbul.
Ozil has never hidden his desire to play for Fenerbahce one day but reports linking him with the Turkish club have gone overdrive in the last few days after his recent trip to Turkey.
The midfielder is a self acclaimed fan of the Turkish giants and have been present at the club several times in the past. One would think it was just one of those occasions where he payed a visit to his boyhood club but Turkish newspaper Hurriyet via The Express are claiming there were discussions about a future move.
The report added that it was a secret meeting and the midfielder spent 17 hours at the club.
This news is coming at a time when Arsenal are struggling to agree a new deal with the player and this will not go down well with many Gooners.
Ozil is in the penultimate year of his contract and has been in talks with the club over a new deal since May but nothing has been agreed.
This is not the first time we are hearing of meetings between Ozil and the Turkish club but the midfielder has always stressed he is happy in North London for now and we would like to believe that is still the case.
Hopefully, Ozil has no intention to leave us anytime soon and will sign a contract extension with us.
