Arsenal legend Charlie Nicholas has urged Jack Wilshere to focus on himself and not his Arsenal future.
Wilshere recently said he is unsure about his future at the Emirates and that has sparked fear amongst supporters that Arsenal might lose one of its golden boys.
The midfielder is a fan favorite at the Emirates, having joined the club at the age of nine and making his debut at 16. He surprised many by asking to join Bournemouth on loan but many took solace in the fact that it was just a loan move.
He recently revealed that he doesn’t know what the future holds for him, casting doubt on a return to the Emirates but Nicholas has urged him not to think too far ahead and focus on himself.
“I love the fact he made this decision [to leave on loan], he had to grow up and move on,” he told Sky Sports.
“Jack has to concentrate on himself now, being an influence in football and probably then getting back into the England set up and then that’s him on the front foot.
“It’s really all about Jack now. I’m not saying he should leave Arsenal but he has to concentrate on himself and go down that zone.”
The loan move was primarily to help the defender improve his fitness level, having been sidelined for majority of the last two seasons.
The decision makers at Arsenal as well as the fans are confident he still has a big role to play for us in the future and it now depends on him to prove his fitness.
