Former Liverpool midfielder Steve McManaman has again revealed his concerns about Arsenal’s striking options.

The pundit has always criticized Wenger for his failure to sign a world class striker and he is at it again, claiming Arsenal needs a better striker than Alexis Sanchez.

Arsene Wenger decided to play Alexis Sanchez as a centre-forward at the beginning of the season and the Chilean has so far given a good account of himself in that position but McManaman doesn’t believe he is good enough to lead Arsenal to the Champions League trophy.

Sanchez has already scored 8 goals for Arsenal this season but that hasn’t convinced the former Liverpool man who is adamant that Wenger still needs to sign a better striker if he wants to win titles.

“I’ve said it for a number of years, I’d still like them to go out and get a better centre-forward than Alexis Sanchez and Olivier Giroud,” McManaman told BT Sport’s Premier League Tonight show, as quoted by Sports Review.

“At the moment, they are playing really well. Let’s see in a number of weeks once they’ve played the likes of Tottenham whether we still have this train of thought.”

Wenger did sign a centre forward in the last transfer window, in the person of Lucas Perez from Deportivo La Coruna but Sanchez’s superb form has limited the Spaniard’s chances.

Although Mcmanaman’s opinion might differ, I believe Sanchez has the quality to lead us to glory. He has the ability to play as a striker and can become a top one like Aguero, with his pace to run behind defenders, we will be very devastating.
