Arsenal are reportedly in the race to sign Barcelona star Luis Suarez, according to a report in the Express.
The name sounds familiar, doesn’t it? He was the subject ofa £40m +£1 bid from Arsenal in 2013, Wenger’s most ridiculous bid in recent times which went on to cause one of the biggest transfer saga that summer. He subsequently joined Barcelona a year later for £75m and has been a revelation for the Spanish giants.
Last week Spanish newspaper Don Balon claimed Manchester United are prepared to spend £135m on Suarez.
Bookmakers Ladbrokes have now followed up the report by slashing odds of Suarez moving to the Old Trafford club in the future to 4/1.
How does that concern Arsenal?
Here it is, the bookmakers have also included Arsenal in the race to sign the striker and we are placed at 16/1 to renew our interest in the Uruguayan.
Although it is very unlikely that Suarez will be leaving Barcelona anytime soon, some Gooners will be wishing the impossible happens.
Suarez has established himself as one of World’s best players and would be a massive asset for any club.
The striker appears to be happy in Barcelona but with the influx of money in the Premier League, I wouldn’t be surprised if an English club attempts to bring him back to England in the next few years. Should there be a slightest chance that it would happen, then I hope Arsenal will be the club to lure him back.
