Arsenal have a mountain to climb if it wants to keep Alexis Sanchez, reports suggest.
Arsenal have been in talks with Sanchez and Ozil to extend their contracts but have failed to convince the players to stay.
It is believed that the duo want a huge increase to their current deals and while the club is willing to offer them improved deals, it is unwilling to match their demands.
Negotiations have stalled as a result and both players are now attracting interests from other clubs. But it is Sanchez who is drawing the most attention and the Chilean is attracting interests from as far as China.
According to Spanish publication Sport via Gunnersphere.com, Hebei China Fortune will offer Sanchez a whooping £22m a year salary to join them.
This dwarfs the £11m a year deal which Arsenal are planning to offer the striker, via the report.
Sanchez recently stated that decision to sign a contract extension is in the club’s hands, hinting he has already made his demands known.
We have seen players at their peak move to China because of the money and should Sanchez be faced with such dilemma, it’s going to be difficult for him to turn it down if he is purely finance motivated.
Hopefully, the lure to challenge for titles in England and Europe will be enough to persuade the striker to accept Arsenal’s terms which I think is a fair enough deal for a player of his quality.
