Borussia Monchengladbach are interested in signing Arsenal midfielder Gideon Zelalem, according to the Express.
Zelalem is regarded as one of Arsenal’s most talented youngsters and is being tipped to play a key role in our first team in the future.
However, he has found opportunities in Wenger’s first team limited so far and was sent out on loan to Dutch side VVV-Venlo last month to play regularly.
Prior to his move to the Eredivisie, the youngster was linked with a move to the Bundesliga with BVB touted as his destination and it does seem he still has admirers in Germany.
Monchengladbach are still keeping tabs on his development and could make a move for his services at the end of the season.
The youngster spent last season on loan at Rangers where he was very impressive. Following his superb performances last year, Wenger thought it wise to keep him in our squad this term but he was unable to break into the first team, featuring in just two EFL cup games before he left for VVV-Venlo.
Monchengladbach interest in the youngster isn’t surprising because he is one with huge potential but should he put up the same performances like he did last year, Wenger would definitely resist any permanent bid for his services
Zelalem was promoted to Arsenal’s first team in 2014 but is yet to make his league debut for the club.
