Arsenal would make a move for Alexandre Lacazette when the summer transfer window opens as a replacement for Alexis Sanchez, according to The Mirror.
Sanchez is currently stalling on signing a new contract and it is believed that he could push for an exit at the end of the season. Arsenal are now resigned to losing its star man and have begun searching for a forward to fill his boots.
Lyon striker Lacazette is top of Wenger’s wish list to replace the Chile+an.
The Gunners boss is a big fan of the Lyon forward and he tried to sign him last summer but Lyon were not prepared to sell, rejecting all our attempts to sign the striker.
But, the French club are now reportedly open to selling the striker in the next transfer window and with Sanchez’s future in doubt, Wenger wants to bring in his compatriot as a replacement for the Chilean.
We will have to spend big to sign the striker as Lyon are expected to demand a £60m fee for the striker. It remains to be seen whether Arsenal are willing to pay that much but Lyon are aware that Lacazette wants to play for a bigger club and may have to sanction his sale if no club meets their demand.
However, competition from Liverpool who are also keen on the forward could complicate things for Arsenal.
Ideally, I’d love Lacazette to move to the Emirates but not as a replacement for Sanchez.
