Lazio midfielder Sergej Milinkovic-Savic could be Arsenal’s first summer signing if Maximiliano Allegri replaces Arsene Wenger this summer.
Arsenal have reportedly reached a verbal agreement with Allegri to replace Wenger if he leaves the club at the end of the season.
And according to The Sunday Express via The Metro, Allegri has told Arsenal to sign Lazio’s midfielder Milinkovic-Savic.
The report claims the Juventus manager has handed his shortlist of targets over to Arsenal chiefs as he prepares to move to North London.
Milinkovic-Savic has been one of Lazio’s best players this season and has impressed everyone with his form. The box to box midfielder has scored four goals and provided three assists in 24 league appearances this term.
The midfielder still has a contract with Lazio until 2020 and his club could resist attempts to sign him but Arsenal should be able to wrap up a deal if we are really interested in his services.
Arsenal’s midfield has faced somewhat of a midfield crisis this season, missing star players due to injuries and suspensions and the arrival of Milinkovic-Savic would go a long way to solve the problem. It isn’t known how much the midfielder will cost but he isn’t expected to be an expensive signing.
