Arsenal have stepped up its interest in Monaco’s youngster Kylian Mbappe, according to reports.
The young striker has been in fine form for Monaco this season and Wenger has been keeping tabs on his development.
The French tactician who revealed in February that he unsuccessfully tried to sign the striker last summer has already admitted we are keeping tabs on his development in view to making a move in the future.
Not only Arsenal, Mbappe’s form has also attracted a number of top clubs who are considering making a move for his but the Gunners are keen to sign the striker ahead of others and JDD via Tribal Football claims we have stepped up their pursuit of the forward.
Wenger is desperate to sign the striker this summer as he looks to bring in attacking reinforcements ahead of next season.
Mbappe may not have the experience to lead Arsenal’s line yet but the striker has the potential to become one of the best in the nearest future. He’s been setting records in the French league and last weekend became the youngest player to score 10 Ligue one goals, a record which has stood for over 30 years.
The striker’s potential knows no boundaries and a move to Arsenal that has a history of developing young players would definitely enhance his potential.
However, he isn’t expected to come cheap. Monaco will reportedly not listen to offers below €50m, whether Arsenal will be willing to pay that much is something i’m not sure of.
