Arsenal are preparing a summer bid for Juventus left-back Alex Sandro, according to reports.
It’s a known fact that Wenger is keen on strengthening his defense line this summer and the left back position his one he has penciled down for reinforcement. This has subsequently thrown the future of Nacho Monreal and Kieran Gibbs into doubt.
It’s been reported for quite sometime that Alex Sandro is one of the player on Arsenal’s shortlist but recent reports claim the Gunners have already reached an agreement with Schalke’s left back Sead Kolasinac.
Despite Kolasinac on the verge of completing a move to Arsenal, Italian media still claim we could still make a move for Sandro.
Tuttosport via Talksport claim we are prepared to spend as much as £34m to sign the Brazilian.
Unsurprisingly, Juventus are not willing to let the defender leave and are looking to offer him a new contract to ward off interest from Arsenal.
The Gunners are not the only club to have been linked with the defender in recent weeks, with Chelsea and Manchester City also said to be admirers.
However, I don’t think Arsenal will make a move fo Sandro after securing the services of Kolasinac. Since this report is emanating from Italy, it is likely that his agent is using these rumors to get the best possible deal for the defender.
